Photography Commission Pricing & What’s Included

Every photography commission is different, but most projects fall into either a half-day or full-day booking. The right option depends on the location, the type of project, the amount of coverage required and how much time is needed on site.

What Every Commission Includes

Every commission begins with an initial consultation to understand the property, site or project and what you need from the photography.

All commissions include preparation and planning, photography on location, image selection, black-and-white editing, high-resolution and web-ready digital files, a standard commercial licence and digital delivery of the finished photographs.

Standard delivery is normally within 10 working days of the shoot, unless a different timescale is agreed in advance.

Your Private Client Portal

Every commission includes access to a private Walking With Pics client portal designed to keep the entire project organised in one secure place.

Through the portal you can communicate directly with me using private one-to-one messaging, view project information and project-related paperwork, receive quotations and invoices, make secure payments and follow the project through to completion.

Once the photography is finished, your completed project and final download link are available through the same private portal. From the initial consultation through to final delivery, everything relating to the commission remains together and easy to access.

Half-Day Commission — £650

Up to 4 hours on site.

Typically includes approximately 12–25 finished photographs.

Full-Day Commission — £950

Up to 8 hours on site.

Typically includes approximately 25–50 finished photographs.

The final number of finished photographs depends on the size of the property or site, the range of subjects being photographed and the conditions on the day.

Clients receive the strongest finished images from the commission rather than being charged per photograph or being asked to choose a small number of files for editing.

Additional Costs

Most commissions should fit comfortably within the half-day or full-day rates above. Additional charges only apply where the scope of the project genuinely goes beyond what is included.

  • Additional shooting time: £150 per hour, where appropriate
  • Where additional time takes a half-day commission close to a full working day, the full-day rate will normally apply instead
  • Additional site visits or return visits: quoted according to the time required
  • Travel within 40 miles of Wooburn Green is included
  • Travel beyond 40 miles: 50p per mile, agreed in advance
  • Accommodation where an overnight stay is required: charged at cost
  • Specialist retouching or unusually complex editing: quoted separately
  • Third-party or extended licensing: quoted according to intended use
  • Specialist access costs, permits, parking or location fees: charged at cost and agreed beforehand

Express Delivery — from £175

By prior arrangement, a priority selection of approximately 10–15 finished photographs can be supplied within 24 hours of the shoot for press, publicity, social media and other time-sensitive marketing.

The complete commissioned gallery is normally delivered within 10 working days. Express delivery is subject to availability and must be agreed before the shoot.

Licensing

Copyright remains with Mark Weekes / Walking With Pics.

The standard commercial licence allows the commissioning client to use the finished photographs across their own website, brochures, publications, editorial, PR, marketing, exhibitions, interpretation and social media.

If photographs need to be licensed to another business, organisation or third party, this can be arranged separately.

Larger or More Complex Projects

Some projects will naturally fall outside a standard half-day or full-day booking — for example large estates, multiple locations, work requiring more than one visit or projects with unusual access requirements.

In those cases, I’ll provide a tailored quotation before anything is booked.

Payment and Booking

The full scope and cost of the commission will be agreed before the project goes ahead, so you know exactly what is included.

Your quotation, invoices, payments and project information are all managed through your private Walking With Pics client portal.

A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking.

Bookings may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 14 days before the agreed shoot date. Rescheduling within this period carries no penalty, subject to availability. If you cancel more than 14 days before the shoot, your deposit will be refunded in full.

Within 14 days of the shoot date, the booking may still be rescheduled, subject to availability, but if the commission is cancelled the 25% deposit becomes non-refundable.

Where weather, site access or other circumstances outside either party’s reasonable control make the shoot impractical or unsuitable, the booking will be rearranged to another mutually agreed date without penalty.

If Walking With Pics has to cancel because of unforeseen circumstances and a suitable alternative date cannot be agreed, your deposit will be refunded in full.

Getting a Quote

If you’re considering a historic property, estate, heritage, historic site, documentary, archival or conservation photography project, get in touch with a little information about the location, what you would like photographed and the level of coverage you think you may need.

From there, I can recommend whether a half-day, full-day or tailored commission is the best fit.
