Why Black and White?
Colour can make a historic property look attractive, but it can also pull attention toward paint, planting, furnishings or seasonal detail. Black and white can reveal something more permanent — the age of the stone, the shape of the building, weathering, craftsmanship and the way the property sits within its landscape.
Distinctive black-and-white photography can give a property, heritage site, restoration project or historic event a stronger visual identity — creating images that feel less like a simple record of one particular day, and more like a lasting representation of the place, work or occasion itself.

Mark Weekes is the photographer behind Walking With Pics, based in Wooburn Green. Alongside commissioned work, I run an ongoing personal practice covering countryside, street, travel and urban observation photography — the same eye for character and place shapes every commission I take on.
